🔸 Description DWG is a proprietary binary file format used for storing two- and three-dimensional design data and metadata. It is the native format for several CAD packages, including DraftSight, AutoCAD, IntelliCAD, Caddie, and Open Design Alliance compliant applications. In addition, DWG is supported non-natively by many other CAD applications. Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) is a DSC-conforming PostScript document with additional restrictions intended to be usable as a graphics file format. In other words, EPS files are more-or-less self-contained, reasonably predictable PostScript documents that describe an image or drawing and can be placed within another PostScript document.
🔸 Technical details DWG contains all the information a user enters, such as designs, geometric data, maps, photos. The .dwg file format is one of the most commonly used design data formats in nearly every design environment. The DWG technology environment contains the capability to mold, render, draw, annotate, and measure. At a minimum, an EPS file contains a BoundingBox DSC comment, describing the rectangle containing the image described by the EPS file. Applications can use this information to layout the page, even if they cannot render the PostScript inside directly.
