|🔸 Description||OGA files are essentially just the audio-only element of an OGG file. It's a container format that contains the audio transport stream encoded in the Vorbis format. This is the preferred extension for OGG audio-only files.||MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 Audio Layer III, more commonly referred to as MP3, is an audio coding format for digital audio that uses lossy data compression. It is a common audio format for consumer audio streaming or storage and a de facto standard of digital audio compression for the transfer and playback of music on most digital audio players.|
|🔸 Technical details||The Ogg format was created as a framework that is available free of charge and re-implementable in software. The format consists of chunks of data referred to as Ogg Pages. A BSD licensed library called LibVorbis is used to encode and decode the data from the Vorbis streams. There is no official standard for including metadata in Ogg containers, but it must be included in the Codec.||Lossy compression is designed to reduce significantly the amount of data required to represent the audio recording and still sound like a faithful reproduction of the original uncompressed audio. For example, an MP3 file created using the setting of 128 kbit/s will result in a file about 1/11 the size of the CD file created from the original audio source.|
